Privacy & data choices

Courto already measures page and interaction activity. This page explains the additional first-party visit-source statistics, which are collected only when that feature is enabled, and the choices available to you.

What we collect

  • The referring site's domain, the landing page path, and source, medium, campaign or content tags included in a link. We do not use a full referring URL to identify a specific social post.
  • The existing random browser identifier, plus a short-lived visit-source session cookie and source-session times when source collection is enabled.
  • If you register, we may associate the first known source and the source of that registration with your account. Existing page and interaction events may also be associated with a source session.

Why we use it

We use this information to understand which platforms bring visitors to Courto, measure visits and registrations, and improve the site. Authorized staff can view source reports and related event records. A platform label does not identify a particular account or post.

How long it remains

Anonymous browser identifier
This cookie helps distinguish repeat visits. It can remain in your browser for up to one year.
Visit-source session
This cookie helps connect activity to a visit source. It expires after up to 30 minutes; that cookie lifetime is not the retention period for server records.
Server-side source records
Source sessions and registration-source snapshots currently have no fixed retention period or automatic expiry. We will update this page when a retention rule is adopted. You can request deletion of records that we can identify as yours.

Your choices and deletion requests

You can clear Courto cookies in your browser. This removes the local identifiers but does not delete records already stored on our servers. A new visit may create a new browser identifier; if source collection is enabled, it may also create a new source session.

To request deletion of source records linked to you, email support@courto.ai. We will verify the request and remove identifiable records or explain if an anonymous record cannot be matched. Do not send a password or verification code.
